Suburban man tries to burn down Seaport restaurant after he's refused a drink for being pre-drunk, police say

Boston Police report arresting a Newton man on charges he reacted to being denied a drink at the bar at Lola 42, 22 Liberty Dr. by hurling some water at the bar then heading into the men's room to break a sink and set fire to a trash barrel.

Police say Boston firefighters arrived in time to douse the burning trash before the fire could spread, around 6:35 p.m. on Sunday.

David Gong, 33, was charged with burning of a public building, burning of personal property, attempting to burn a public building, attempted arson of a dwelling house - Lola 42 is on the first floor of a residential building - and malicious destruction of property, police say. A judge in South Boston Municipal Court set his bail at $2,000 at his arraignment this morning, court records show.

Innocent, etc.

What's the difference between arson and "burning of a public building"?

I used to work in that area and sometimes grabbed lunch at the happy hour/in between time at Lolas. The staff there is incredibly nice, but for some reason, that place attracts some of the weirdest customers.
