Police: Road-raging motorist beats scooter driver with a baseball bat on the North Washington Street bridge

Boston Police report arresting an Everett man on charges he responded to some traffic altercation by getting out of his car and whaling on his opponent with a baseball bat shortly before 9 a.m. yesterday.

Travis Elsaadi, 20, fled the scene after whacking his victim several times, but witnesses gave arriving officers his car's plate number, which they traced to a Dorchester address - where, police say, officers arrested him on a charge of assault by means of a dangerous weapon.

His victim was taken to Mass. General and is expected to survive.

Innocent, etc.

Given that they say the guy beat his victim, the actual charge is probably assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, which is a more serious charge than just assault (which is more the legal term for "threaten").

I hate to see people who are displeased with the manner other people share the road resort to threats of physical harm. What other factors are in evidence?

Assuming it's the same gold car police report mentioned.

If this is true, he's demonstrated that he is unable to safely and rationally operate heavy machinery on the public ways. Should we assume that, if he is to be convicted, his driver's license will be revoked?

Not a right.

I was amused by how this website puts that right up front: https://driversed.com/driving-information/the-driving-privilege/driving-...
