Man already wanted for armed robbery tries to shoulder way past cop on Beacon Hill but fails, police say
Boston Police report arresting a Mattapan man wanted for a Downtown Crossing armed robbery after a scuffle with an officer at Bowdoin and Derne streets on Beacon Hill Tuesday afternoon.
Police say that around 3:15 p.m. an officer who recognized Timothy Campbell, 44, and who knew he was wanted for, among other things, "a recent armed robbery and aggravated assault involving a knife in Downtown Crossing" and approached him:
When the officer approached to speak with the suspect, a foot chase ensued with the officer finally stopping the suspect in the area of 47Joy Street. The suspect immediately became combative, dropping his shoulder and running into the officer in an attempt to flee again. The officer was able to physically detain the suspect until additional responding units arrived on scene to secure the suspect.
Campbell was charged with assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest, police say, adding he was wanted on 11 warrants out of downtown, Dorchester, Quincy and Lowell.
Innocent, etc.

A Cunning Plan
So I guess the idea was to knock the Policeman ass over teakettle thereby getting enough of a head start to get away.
Does that ever work?
