When his mother reported a man was masturbating in a car in front of her, son rushed into action and smashed the guy's windshield, forcing him to flee, DA says

A man who has nine convictions for exposing himself dating to 2009 was arraigned last week on a charge that he was driving around Dorchester in a BMW, pulling up to women standing on the street and then rolling down a window so they could watch him masturbate, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Lucio Tomar, 38, classified as a Level 3 sex offender, and with an open exposure case in Roxbury Municipal Court, first came to police attention this month for an incident on Clayton Street, around 11:25 a.m. on Oct. 6, the DA's office reports.

According to the DA's office, police responded to Clayton Street after receiving a call from a man who reported "an emergency" involving his mother, who had been standing outside waiting for an Uber:

The witness observed a dark colored BMW with the windows down parked directly in front of his mother. A man, later identified as Tomar, was in the vehicle with his pants down and genitals fully exposed, touching himself. The witness smashed the passenger side top corner of the vehicle with a hammer, causing the windshield to shatter. Tomar quickly fled the area after.

The victim later told police she was “disgusted and mad” and afraid for herself and the young children that lived nearby.

The DA's office continues that three days later, police got another 911 call about a man "pleasuring himself" in the area of Crescent Avenue.

Officers familiar with Tomar and similar incidents happening in that area were advised that Tomar may be operating a dark colored BMW with dealer plates. Shortly after, officers stopped Tomar at the corner of Dorchester and Crescent Avenue driving the same vehicle with a shattered windshield and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

The DA's office adds:

Tomar’s record includes 17 prior incidents involving 30 open and gross, lewd and lascivious or indecent exposure charges, as well as offenses for larceny, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, malicious destruction of property, threats, disorderly conduct and failure to register as a sex offender. The incidents, which date back to 2006, span numerous district courts in Suffolk, Norfolk and Middlesex counties.

At his arraignment , Tomar had bail set at $2,500 on a count of open and gross lewdness.
