FedEx driver robbed at knifepoint in Hyde Park by two guys in black masks on scooters

Wanted scooter drivers

Boston Police are investigating a robbery at 85 Maple St. in Hyde Park, near the Fairmount train station, around 4:30 p.m.

Two men in black masks, one on a red scooter, the other on a black one, put a knife up to a Fed Ex driver and took at least one package. Both scooters had food-delivery packs on the back. They then sped off up Maple to Oak to Hyde Park Avenue.

The ICE scooter drivers- they’re just about all masked. As far as I know it’s illegal to “filter” through traffic, yet that is almost exclusively how these scooters move through the lanes, scraping past busses making the busses stop out of caution. You all know the examples.

It’s time to unmask the scooter pirates. One of the NPR terrestrial stations played a clip of Boston’s mayor saying the buck stops with Uber and like bad actors, not her, or the city to rein in this bad behavior.

Its actually perfectly legal for scooters to go through traffic, as long as it is under 50cc's , just like it is for a bike. They can use bike lines too. Not exactly the safest decision for the scooter driver, but at least they arent driving cars and causing traffic.
