The Boston Public Health Commission warns the pond on the Hyde Park/Dedham line off Sprague Street is now infested with a cyanobacteria algae bloom and it has shut the pond to public access - so don't jump in it, go fishing there or let your dog into the smaller of Boston's two great ponds. Long ditch floods into marshland

The Charles, the Needham Line and the Long Ditch overflowing into Cutler Park. See it larger.

Yesterday afternoon, just before the deluge that gave us That Rainbow, the Long Ditch that connects two loops of the Charles at the Dedham/Needham line (dug by the busy-beaver colonial settlers who also gave us the Mother Brook), had overflowed its banks and was flooding the nearby marshes of Cutler Park. As it was designed to do. Read more.

From the complaint.

A subsidiary of the Dedham's Norfolk & Dedham Group that has a program to offer gift cards to safe drivers called N&Drive, says the last thing it needs is to be associated with party buses, so it's suing N&D Night Out of Easton, which offers party buses and vans, to try to force that company to change its name. Update: Yep, it was the East Street bridge.

The MBTA reports Franklin Line train 754 is between 30 and 40 minutes late into Boston because yet another trucker has slammed into a bridge in Dedham. The T didn't say which bridge, but if we were a betting site, we'd put good money on the ol' East Street bridge, which gets hit by truckers enough to be made an honorary Storrow Drive bridge.

By adamg - 5/15/23 - 2:04 pm

The MBTA reports all service to Foxborough canceled under further notice because the driver of a truck hauling a trash compactor managed to slam his rig into a bridge in Dedham, hard enough to require track repairs. Here's hoping they get it fixed before Friday's Taylor Swift show at Gillette, because you don't want to get Swifties mad.
