Update: Suspect arrested in connection with the shooting.
A man in a pickup truck was shot in the chest next to the Jackson Square MBTA stop shortly before 2:40 p.m. The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of the victim's injuries.
A possible suspect on a scooter was detained several blocks away; a gun recovered along the route he took to get there.

Three men were shot outside 285 Centre St. in the Mildred Hailey Apartments in Jamaica Plain around 1:25 this morning.
Two of the men were shot in the arm, one in the leg. The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of at least one victim's injuries.

Via the Jamaica Plain Facebook group comes word that the long vacant Il Panino space across Centre Street from the Jackson Square T station now has a sign advising it will soon become an outlet of Viva Mi Arepa, which has long served up Venezuelan food at Grove and Washington streets in West Roxbury, but whose continued existence there is possibly threatened by plans for a new apartment building.

A Cambridge man who was arrested in March by Boston and Cambridge police for robbing the JP Wireless store, 319 Centre St. in Jamaica Plain, was charged again today, this time by the FBI after he was charged with violating the federal Hobbs Act for interfering with interstate commerce through threats or violence. Yesterday morning, the Orange had a Jackson Square crotch exposer, then, just to mix things up, in the evening, at the very same station, Transit Police report, officers arrested a woman, 38, for "attempting/threatening to assault multiple other passengers onboard OL train with a Ball Peen hammer." She was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

LCG Boston reports it is closing its Anna Cole testing site at the Mildred Hailey Apartments after tomorrow. It says the site will be relocated elsewhere, but no new address has yet to be posted. The city has listings of other testing sites and resources.
