The long-abandoned Muffin House on Cummins Highway in Roslindale re-opened as a Spanish-American restaurant on Thanksgiving, and city officials have let it remain open despite the fact it has no license to serve food - and despite opposition from neighbors, city Councilor Rob Consalvo and, allegedly, even the mayor - the Bulletin reports.
Owners of Cafe La Lechonera apparently decided enough was enough after two years of working with residents and the city and simply opened up. But rather than shut the place down, the city licensing board granted them a temporary license late last month.
