My first thought was that this was an effort to save face and start a law career... but reading the interview he sounds quite sincere. What a refreshing change of pace from all the political bickering of the last few days.
Maybe they'll be getting another apology email from Mitt Romney in a few weeks??
When he filed his initial grievance, this student was:
A) Horrendously immature
B) Coping with untreated mental health issues
C) Absurdly high on privilege and self esteem
D) Overly sheltered from the non-school world
E) All of the above
Most likely E, but it took a huge amount of guts to apologize publically and even more to give a long interview to the same newspaper that mocked him soundly back in July. If his interview answers are sincere, and I agree that it SOUNDS like they are, then he must have done a whole lot of soul-searching in the past six months, and he should be commended for that.
(If they're not sincere, then he's got a great future as a trial lawyer.)

It's nice to see this apology...
but it's too bad that this really sincere letter and interview won't get nearly as much international media attention as his lawsuit did.
