City People and Wild Lands
I have to wonder, I mean REALLY wonder about the people who live near the woods and don't have the slightest farking clue about wild life. Like the woman who was "too scared to bring in her groceries" because somebody in her neighborhood saw a coyote. Now we get BearBeaver. Ah Mefuh.
I've seen Beavers time and again in that area on the Winchester line - running streams, vernal pools, lots of stuff to munch ... great habitat. Cosmo might have known this if he, like, actually went into those woods. At least he didn't find out like many people do - massive flooding from a huge rodent works project.
People like this should realize that their proximity to the fells really enhances their property value and move away.
Then again, a number of them have no idea that they live near the woods - just like the people who couldn't tell an arriving guest of ours where the river was when it was TWO BLOCKS AWAY from where they had "lived their whole life".
*HEADDESK*
They are probably farrowing all those lovely kids who go 100ft into the woods and have their drinking parties (and wonder why they get busted up ...). Never 200 ft, never 1/4 mile, no. That might mean footwear other than flip flops and those cases of swill are heavy ...
