Confronting an anti-gay petition pusher
Tony describes a run-in with an older woman outside the Downtown Crossing T stop trying to get signatures on a petition for a question to ban gay marriage:
... I can feel the anger rise in me. How dare these people reach into my personal life, and the lives of thousands of citizens in Massachusetts! How dare the majority oppress the minority based on religion (yes, religion - there are no social ills in being gay and wanting to start a family - only bigotry here feuled by religious fanatacism). I get closer and closer, and this is how the entire conversation went:
[She inches closer to me, gesturing for me to read the petition.]
[I yell:] You've got to be fucking kidding me!! ...
