I keep hoping the housing crisis will get rid of all the excess real estate offices so that there can be stores in places like Charles Street in Beacon Hill.

Let Bank of America fail

I see no good reason to give federal bailout money to Bank of America. Let it go under. Then reorganize the remains into smaller regional banks -- like the ones that existed before B of A gobbled them up.

Wouldn't this region be better off if it had a Bank of Boston once more?

Has anyone actually been to Harvard Square recently? It's not like there's a lack of available, empty storefronts in Cambridge.

Thats not really true to the prime time real estate though. Sure Alpha Omega has been empty but most other recently closed store fronts seem to be on the move.

A Tree (Doesn't) Grow In Andover

The Town of Andover chopped down several young, healthy trees in their central square because they obstructed the view of a Citibank branch office. That branch could disappear, but there will be no verdant branches there ever again!
