Ode to a quiet Saturday
My neighborhood is so quiet today. My neighbors work hard all week. So today is their one day a week to do nothing. Not to do yard work, not to work on cars, not to repair their homes. But to do nothing.
Dogs are not being walked, laundry is not being done. And since it is coldish out, in the mid 70's there are very few people walking to the beach. So the road is quiet. This day is cool, cool enough so that for the first time this week, all the air conditioners are just boxes in the windows. A light breeze plays with the trees, not strong enough to turn the leaves or threaten rain, but enough to rustle the grass and keep the birds and squirrels hidden away.
In general, the entire house is lazy today. Byron, the dog, simply moves from sleeping spot to sleeping spot, more effort spent on getting comfortable, in following the sun. Even the Guinea Pig has decided to sleep the day away. He is all stretched out in his pen, a bit of grass in his mouth, asleep in mid chew. The birds, all four, are sweetly whispering to each other, pulling a head out from under a wing, chirping to each other, then tucking their heads back under. Happily the entire flock has been located, and they can go off guard duty. I am never sure why one bird must always stay on guard. But, they do...
A laziness has taken me as well, I should be outside mowing the lawn, or clipping back the shrubs, after all, I have a job that does not strain my body, but my brain. So my body is not in need of rest, but I've not taken a shower, my pj's are still on, and as far as I can tell, this day is going to be a wash. At best, if I ever do take that shower, I might change my nail polish.

WTF?
OK, go post this stuff in a blog or something, then let the mod quote from it if he deems it worthy of being posted here. This isn't some kind of vanity press.
Chill
a.) I didn't mind ithe post so much. Actually, it described the a-typical August day well. b.) I am pretty sure it *was* posted in fibrowatch's blog and promoted by "the mod".
Simply learn how to use a scroll bar and skip the entries you don't want to read.
You're correct
Anybody can get a blog here, even angry anonymous people! Granted, it's not like BlogSpot where you can change the design to red type on a black background, and I've never really promoted the feature (thinking most people would prefer a site where they can use plaid backgrounds or whatever) but still ...
And, yes, I thought Fibrowitch's post in her UH blog was a nice vignettish thing, so I promoted it. You'll notice the whole thing was not on the home page - you had to click "Read More" if you really wanted to get irritated by it.
So you had to work your way
Onto a second page, and continue reading my long drawn out ode to my laziness. Only to see the entire plot was to draw as many people as possible into the confusing aura of beauty products I need to color my nails and to get a consensus. On which color I would go with. Greater battles have been fought and won, but never by lesser people.
Thanks, I never would have espected it
But I have the urge to ask 'fibrobitch' a coupld of questions.
Say do you know the meaning of the name you took? Do you care?
Have you done any writing of your own, opened the skin to your fleash can be feasted on. I don't mean the local zines, the kiddy papers I mean the real worldl...
SO 'fibrobitch' can you stand up and take your writig to this, or a highre level. Or will you troll like never dampen this site again.
Actually, this *is* a vanity press
and I enjoyed reading her posting. I wish I could say the same about your comment.
so stop reading me
Hi Karen!!!!
Such a little bit of fun on a quiet day.
Thanks, I really like to hear nice things said about what I write, even musings that I expected no one to read. Adamg that was totally unexpected and real sweet. Sometimes I just let my fingers wander the keyboard, and even I am surprised at what comes out.
There are times when I just need to play with words, since I work with them most of the time.
I wonder if 'fibrobitch' is someone I know. Well I don't know very well, but the gf of a former guy friend. We, to say the least did not hit it off, and the my friendship with the guy was ended. Bummer too, every woman needs one male friend. She sees me as an enemy to be taken down and destroyed, A person (me) living a life she wants to be fully her's. I see her as maybe half a chapter in my life story. The dichotomy drives her to distraction.
I finally did take that shower, and my nails are now a sparkly purple with gold and silver flecks.
And now off too bed, the early bird catches the worm my Grandmother would always say. Then I would reminder we go punished for eating worms. Usually got me another chance to hit the bed.
