Why does Stephen Lynch exist?

Devone asks:

Can anyone--anyone--come up with a coherent, logical reason as to why voters in Massachusetts' Ninth District should return Rep. Stephen Lynch to Congress on November 7?

It would be one thing if Lynch actually had some accomplishments to speak of, but can anyone point to anything he's done that has had tangible benefits for the residents of his district? ...

Stephen Lynch is a product of a failed election and the corrupt Massachusetts legislature. A few years back, Cheryl Jacques ran in the primary election against a number of so-called democrats. She was sure to win until Tom Birmingham jumped into the race - Tom, how could you do this to all of us??!!!!. The 2 of them soundly split the liberal majority vote in half in the primary. This left about 30% of the (more conservative) vote for Lynch. Thus he ended up as the Democratic candidate on the November ballot. Of course, he won - surprise, surprise. Then Corrupt Speaker, Finneran, promptly led the redistricting to make the district more conservative but tossing out Needham and including sections of the south shore. Regardless, Lynch would lose if anyone credible ran against him. He's horrible and does not represent the majority of voters in his district (just like his chief supporter Finneran!). We will be stuck with him until someone challenges him in a serious way. So goes the sorry local corrupt politics in Massachusetts.
