South Boston dominance of District 2 at an end?
By adamg on Wed, 04/18/2007 - 7:34pm
Chris Lovett runs the numbers on yesterday's preliminary city-council election in District 2. He notes that the candidate who got the most votes in South Boston (Ed Flynn) won't be in the May final, while Bill Linehan, who will be, was the winner in Chinatown's largest precinct. Linehan will face off against the South End's Susan Passoni. Whoever wins will have to run again in this fall's regular council election.

I don't think that Bill
I don't think that Bill Linehan is going to loose next month. What will be interesting is what will happen come September when the seat is again up for election.
If Ed Flynn or any one of the other South Boston candidates run again, then, maybe there could be trouble.
But keep in mind...
that Passoni won that same big precinct in Chinatown in a landslide when she faced the recently-deceased incumbent, Jimmy Kelly, in 2005. I wouldn't count her out.
