Worse than Spare Change Guy
By adamg on Fri, 05/11/2007 - 9:20am
Single Girl in the City is not amused by BostonNow hawkers:
... They're more annoying than if the Spare Change guy WAS one of the Metro hawkers. ...
Meanwhile, Dan Kennedy wishes the paper would hire a copy editor.
Hmm, there's a thought: I could stand outside Park Street in the morning hawking the site: HUB HEAH! GET YER HUUUUUUUUUUB HEAH!

Also not good first thing in
Also not good first thing in the morning? The new Metro guy at Davis Square station. "PayPAH! Get your Metro PayPAH!
Much worse!
Awww, there's something a bit special about SpareChange Guy. Although I'm not too fond of fox news using him for rating, I did like seeing his insight on the TV, and I for some reason the I smile when I hear that familiar voice.
The other day downtown I saw him asking "CAAaannn AnnyboDDDYyy SpppaaaAAAARRRrree a Light", I helped him out.
And yes, there is a face book group, albeit not as popular as the 3 wheeler guys group.
Anyways, the paper guys are much worse. I don't mind the fact that they're loud and annoying... it's the city, plenty of people / things are.
I do mind when they lunge and stick a paper in your face trying to get you to grab it. BACK OFF BUDDY, I'll take it if I want it.
I heard they do this because they faster they get rid of the papers, the quicker they can go home.
One spark of creativity
I noticed some of the BostonNOW!!!1 hawkers were using the slogan "BostonNOW, get it now, read it later!"
For some reason that amused me quite muchly.
