a very nice traditional waffle, as well as buckwheat and sweet potato versions, but only on weekends.

The wild card here is the cheesy wafflato at Pagu. It's kind of great.

If you're waiting outside for an hour at 10:30 am on a Sunday near a so-called square with a complete lack of right angles, you're doing it wrong.

the best chicken & waffles in the city* are at Redd's in Rozzie, conveniently located in Roslindale "Square," and they often have lines.

For proper Belgian-style waffles (not just deep-tread breakfast waffles), I'm a big fan of Saus, near Haymarket. For traditional small-tread waffles, I do like Deluxe Town Diner, especially their sweet potato waffles. I miss Center Street Cafe in JP, which introduced me to the yeasty deliciousness of raised waffles - nowadays I just make my own.

Hmm...I think I know what we're doing for breakfast on Sunday!

They're under new management and have a totally different dinner menu, but they preserved the weekend brunch menu of the old ownership. Not sure if the waffles are still on there, but I wouldn't be surprised.
