My wife grew up a couple of miles from there -- and both her brothers worked there during summer vacations. Not only do they make good bratwurst -- they also make great summer sausage. Alas, unlike their bratwurst, their summer sausage doesn't seem to be exported to Boston.

If you're really questing then go up to Brownyn in Somerville. Otherwise I prefer the street sausages next to Macy's.

Does anyone know where one can buy proper Irish bangers outside of St Patricks Day season? Aldi in Medford had them a few weeks ago, and Whole Foods too, but they have since disappeared from the shelves..

The opposite ends of Dorchester. If you want something Polish, visit the Triangle. If you want something Irish, visit Adams Corner. That's where years ago I got my bacon for a proper culchie meal- bacon and cabbage.

I made Dublin coddle a few weeks ago after finding the bangers at Aldi, but I couldn't find rashers and had to opt for Canadian bacon instead. It was fine, but felt like it was missing something.

If they're in stock, Costco's store brand brats are the best brats you can buy around here. Yes, I've had all the others.

Johnsonville now puts corn syrup in their "original" brats, which ruins the flavor. If you have to buy Johnsonville, buy the "Natural" variety, which don't.

The Kirkland brats are not just Johnsonville with a different label. They're made in Kansas City, and they're better.

We're huge Pig Rock fans at our house, everything we've tried from than has been fantastic. You can get delivery through Morrissey Market in most of the Boston area.

Former Milwaukeean here. Never forget that Usingers's will ship brats by the case. Accept no substitute. These chowderheads do brats about as well as folks in Sheboygan do lobster rolls. ;)
