The Boston Fire Department reports firefighters responded to the Squealing Pig, 134 Smith St. on Mission Hill, for what turned into a two-alarm fire around midnight.
The department reported no injuries from the fire, which came a little more than 24 hours after the Jacob Wirth building on Stuart Street burned in a four-alarm fire.

A Land Court judge yesterday rejected a developer's request to order the city let it immediately tear down two long vacant and increasingly decrepit buildings at 80 and 100 Smith St. that it claims are in danger of imminent "catastrophic" collapse - but which the city says could be repaired. A Back Bay developer that wants to put two residential buildings on Smith Street on Mission Hill says it will soon file plans for one building with 13 floors, rather than the 17 it had originally proposed. Read more.

Boston Police report the BPD gang unit arrested a 15-year-old in Heath Street Gang territory at the Mildred Hailey Apartments yesterday on charges he shot somebody on the Mission Hill turf of the Annunciation Road gang on May 11. Read more.

A developer says it will soon file plans with the BPDA for a two-building complex on Smith Street on Mission Hill on land that was originally part of the campus for the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help - also known as Mission Church, up on Tremont Street. Read more.

Stanley Staco reports a man was shot at Tremont and Burney streets, shortly before 8:45 p.m. He made it over to Smith Street, where some friends rushed him to a nearby emergency room - with a BPD escort. Boston Police report the victim died.

Live Boston reports Boston Police responded to a report of multiple gunshots at the Tobin School on Smith Street around 8:15 p.m. They found a gun and several spent shells and took several people into custody.
