The Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association and Beacon Communities yesterday asked the Boston Planning Department to let them shrink the size of a proposed apartment building at 50 Herald St. in the South End - where the C-Mart is now - from 313 to 115 or 120 apartments. Read more.

Transit Police report arresting four teens - all 15 or 16 - on charges related to an attack on a Silver Line bus at Washington and Herald streets in the South End around 10 p.m. on Tuesday. Read more.

The Chinatown Consolidated Benevolent Association says the owner of the C-Mart supermarket has known since at least 2019 its lease on association land at Washington and Herald streets would not be renewed when it ends this July and yet is acting as if the lease will actually be extended. Read more.
