A homeless man formerly from Hingham has been indicted on charges of manslaughter and unarmed robbery of a person over 60 for the 2016 death of an 83-year-old East Boston man in in Belle Isle Marsh - three days after he'd beaten another man there, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. UPDATE: Arrest made for one attack.
Three days after an elderly man was found with what turned out to be fatal injuries in Belle Isle Marsh on the East Boston/Revere line, another man was attacked in the marshes, State Police report.
State Police, who emphasize they still do not know how the first man suffered his injuries, report they are looking to see if the two incidents are related and say they have stepped up patrols in the 251-acre reservation, which straddles the borders of East Boston, Revere and Winthrop. Read more.
