The Supreme Judicial Court ruled today that Nickoyan Wallace has to stand trial on charges he shot a man to death on Park Street in Dorchester in 2021. Read more.
For the third time in a month, a federal judge has declined to stop state criminal charges against several Moorish sovereign citizens who remain behind bars in an Essex County jail for their role in an armed standoff with state and local police along Rte. 128 last July. Read more.
For the second time in a week, a federal judge has told one of the Moorish sovereign citizens involved in an armed standoff on Rte. 128 last year that he can't simply transfer his case from state to federal court even if he is Moorish and that he will have to first fight the various gun charges he faces in state court. A federal judge in Boston yesterday dismissed an effort by one of the people involved in that armed standoff on Rte. 128 last year to move his case to federal court, declaring that his argument that he is a "Moor" not subject to Massachusetts criminal law is bunk, or in legal terms, "frivolous." An Arkansas woman who claims she's one of the Moorish owners of what is called the US is suing Massachusetts state troopers for the "genocide" they committed when they seized a gun and ammunition from her car parked outside a Middlesex County courthouse to which she drove 1,500 miles to show support for the Rise of the Moors men arrested after an armed standoff on Rte. 128 last July. A federal jury ruled today that a Lowell cop did not use excessive force in arresting Leonitus Jabir Bey following a traffic stop in 2019 and so he gets nothing, rather than the $9 million - payable in cash - he had demanded. Read more.
Trial is set to start Wednesday over a multi-million-dollar federal lawsuit a Lowell man filed against a Lowell police officer over the way he was arrested for negligent operation and resisting arrest in 2019 - but first the judge in the case will ask prospective jurors whether they feel they can be impartial in a case brought by a man believes he "is a Moorish American national not fully subject to the laws of the United States." A federal judge in Boston ruled today that Pepo Herd El, arrested last November after he got off a bus at Ruggles while allegedly wearing body armor and packing a loaded gun, three full magazines and a knife, is unlikely to stick around for a trial and has proven enough of a potential risk to society that she had no choice but to order him locked up at least until a verdict is read. State and Wakefield Police shut Rte. 128 in Wakefield - and ordered Wakefield, Stoneham and Reading residents to shelter in place - after they say a check on two cars in the northbound breakdown lane near Parker Street turned into a standoff between law enforcement and heavily armed members of a Black sovereign-citizen group early this morning.
