The ski and snowboard films shown at the Boston Winter Film Festival are an awesome blend of creativity and raw power; nature and technology; awe, fear, and excitement. The event features some of 2014's best winter films, shot on location in some of the remote mountain ranges on earth and right here in our own backyards, on our city streets, and at our favorite local resorts.

Recess for Justice is going down at the Stony Brook court right off Lamartine Street in JP on Saturday, July 28th, from 11:00AM to 2:00PM. (Exit Stony Brook T station on the Orange line, walk directly across the street to the park - we'll be on the field and in the courts right in front of you.) We’re hoping for a sunny summer day!
Bring your favorite outdoor game or check out the assortment of fun we'll have on hand: Frisbees, kickball & chalk (for 4-square!), jump rope, basketball, softball (bring a glove) and whatever other randomness we can think of. If it's hot we can run through the fountain sprinkler to cool off. Check out the photos from previous Recess for Justice events in 2007, 2008, and 2009!
RSVP at www.sojust.org - Newcomers always welcomed!
Fee: $2 cash at the event
Are you looking to hang out and skate with like-minded progressives in Boston? Want to cross-promote your events and campaigns over the ice? Are you new to the area and looking for groups to get involved in? Are you psyched about building strong cross-issue coalitions while you take a break from holiday preparations?
Join Socializing for Justice at the Frog Pond* on the Common for Ice Skating for Justice!
(Even if you can't skate, come on out! There will surely be others with wobbly ankles.)
No program. No speaker.
Just lace up and enjoy yourself.
At Socializing for Justice (SoJust) events you can hang out with friends, make new ones, find a date, get the scoop on a job, and find out what's going on this weekend - political or social. And the best part is that SoJust members share your vision of building a more just world.

Women Outdoors is coming (back!) to the Greater Boston Region
Women Outdoors, a non-profit organization dedicated to promote wilderness activities and competency in the out-of-doors, is excited to announce the re-establishment of a chapter in the Greater Boston area. Founded in 1980, Women Outdoors provides women with a structure for a national network of women who work and play in the outdoors, and encourages women to develop an integrated, environmentally conscious lifestyle and to support policies that preserve the earth’s natural resources and promote a strong environmental ethic.
