Harry's All American, 1420 Centre St. in Roslindale, formally asked the Boston Licensing Board today for one of the 02131-specific alcohol licenses it has to dole out, both because customers keep asking for adult accompaniments for their meals and so it can expand into dinner service. Read more.

Boston Restaurant Talk serves up the news that the Boston Licensing Board this week considers a request by Kelleher's Bar and Grille on Centre Street near Weld Street in Roslindale to sell its liquor license to some joint in the Hancock Building, um, 200 Clarendon St., in the Back Bay. Read more.

The Boston Sun reports a chain called First Watch, which offers blunchy stuff, is looking at space at 777 Boylston St. for its first Boston location. They'll be seeking a liquor license, because what's breakfast without a bloody Mary?

Update, 12 p.m. Now snowing in Roslindale.

Here in the highlands along the Hyde Park frontier, we have just enough of a dusting to almost be pretty. But as Doctahdooley shows us, that's not reason to let all those French toast fixin's go to waste.

Update: Board voted to grant a liquor license, should one be found at City Hall.

Victoria's Diner, which has been slinging hash at 1024 Massachusetts Ave. in Newmarket Square since 1949, has a new owner who says he plans to keep things mainly the way they are, just upgraded a bit and with 24-hour service every day and, if he can get it, a license to serve liquor until 1 a.m. Read more.

Westbury Restaurant on Centre Street

Update: The new owner is Erdi Kembora of West Roxbury.

The yellow sign above the restaurant name says it all: On May 28, the Westbury Restaurant, next to where the bowling alley used to be before the post office moved in, gets a new owner - longtime owner Antonios Sevastos is retiring after serving up breakfast there for more than 30 years. Read more.

The US Department of Labor yesterday sued Sound Bites Cafe and its owner, Yasser Mirza, on charges he reacted to an employee seeking back overtime pay by threatening to have something bad happen to his family unless he called off federal investigators looking into the issue. Read more.

A roving UHub photographer spotted two large signs in a front window at the Breakfast Club, 270 Western Ave., yesterday that says the joint is barred by federal law from asking people who come in without a mask why, so they're going to welcome in everybody without a mask without any questions asked, no matter any so-called restrictions enacted by evil socialists in government.
