Bus and trolley collide

Clauclauclaudia caught both a bus and a trolley in flagrante delicto at Huntington Avenue and Fenwood Road shortly after 8 p.m.

"I guess expect E line delays inbound," she summarizes. Sure, enough, the T is reporting 15-minute delays on the E Line, suggests the more flexible 39 as an alternative.

Gremlins Traffic Light Scene

Huntington Avenue chutes ride

Boston College's Burns Library posted this illustration for the Shooting the Chutes ride somebody would set up along Huntington Avenue at Parker Street back in the late 1890s - you get up to the top of a tower and then zoom, you shoot down the chute in a gondola and splash in the man-made pond at the bottom. The Boston Licensing Board today ordered a one-day license suspension for Walsh Wine & Spirits, 388 Washington St. in Brighton Center, which police detectives cited on July 19 for selling tequila, rum and other drinks to two guys who were under 21, in the latest such incident at a place that had become popular among Boston College and Boston University students. Update: Board rules restaurant not at fault.

A dispute over a shove inside El Jefe's Taqueria, 269 Huntington Ave. in the Fenway, early one May morning ended with a woman beaten to the ground and a man whipping out a gun and shooting up a car that had nothing to do with either the victim or any of her attackers, police and the restaurant's owner told the Boston Licensing Board this morning. Bus/bike lanes on Huntington Avenue between Brigham Circle and Gainborough Street will be made permanent by the end of the year with the addition of red paint, after the MBTA and BTD said today that 39 and CT-2 riders are saving up to two minutes per trip during the morning and evening commutes when compared to the same period in 2019.
