New England Revolution - Hat Act

There's a reason the Revolution started here, it seems.

The Krafts think the old Bayside Expo Center, now owned by UMass Boston, would make a great location for a Revolution stadium. And Shirley Leung, on the rebound from the Olympics, swoons.

Some may say I have never met a stadium I didn’t like. But I really like this one. What’s most exciting is the opportunity to build something different in a part of the city that could use an economic jolt. It’s not another strip mall, big-box retailer, or luxury condo tower — and that’s a good thing.

Management got fed up with fans in one section constantly yelling "You suck, asshole!" at opposing goalies, so when it happened again on Saturday, security descended on the section and just began pulling and pushing fans out. Two were actually arrested; 20 were banned from the stadium.

Imagine if the Red Sox tried that during a Yankees game.

New England Revolution striker Taylor Twellman is out for the remainder of the season with "concussion related problems."

So the Revolution look to take on arch-rival Chicago Fire Thursday night at Foxboro without:

Taylor Twellman
Adam Cristman
Khano Smith
Steve Ralston
Gabriel Badilla

The bad luck just goes on and on for this team. At least they won't lose the MLS Cup Final AGAIN because they'll be lucky if they get out of the first round.

The Kraft Group would like to move the popular New England MLS franchise, The Revolution, to a new, smaller, soccer stadium in East Somerville. This has worked well for other MLS teams and the location is already under consideration for development as part of the Green Line expansion and repair yard by MBTA officials.

No, nobody's planning a coup against Mayor Joe (that we know of). The New England Revolution is looking at the city as possible home for a new stadium.

Dave Bonner: A quick reminder to everyone that we have a soccer team we should be cheering for:

... A really, really good one. The Revolution are playing DC United in the Eastern Conference Championship game this Sunday at 4. ...
