Boston police, firefighters and EMTs responded to 399 Congress St. at B Street after a driver crashed into a Seaport Boulevard building near there, bounced off and then took out a utility box, shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. First responders found the driver unconscious.

MassLive reports the driver died.

The Boston Licensing Board today approved plans by Sherif and Nadine Farag to buy the beer, wine and liqueurs license of the failed Our Father's Deli in the Fenway for their upcoming Elephantine Bakery at 332 Congress St. in the Seaport, where they will serve up not just baked goods, but small-plate dishes with European and Middle Eastern influences from breakfast though dinner. As Boston officials await word on whether the legislature will give last-second approval to more than 250 liquor licenses for the city, the Boston Licensing Board today approved plans by developer John Hynes IV to pay $600,000 for the liquor license of a defunct downtown bar to use it as an enticement to bring in somebody to run the restaurant he wants to have in his 18-story, $600-million Seaport office and life-sciences building. Zombiemobile with a parking ticket

Seems there's only so far you can go to replicate post-apocalyptic Manhattan on the streets of Lowell, so the producers of The Walking Dead were setting up some props for filming in downtown Boston today, like at High and Congress. A roving UHub photographer couldn't help but note that a BTD employee ticketed a zombiemobile.

Around noon, a man with a gun dressed all in yellow and a woman tried to get into the Congress Street side of City Hall, but were turned away by a Municipal Protective Services guard even after the man waved the gun at him. Read more.

Boston firefighters responded around 7 p.m. to the 30th floor of Atlantic Wharf, 280 Congress St. for a fire that Live Boston reports started in an electrical box. Read more.

Boston Restaurant Talk reports chef Lydia Shire has signed a lease with BioMed Realty to open a new restaurant in its 13-story Seaport Science Center, 601 Congress St. In a press release, BioMed says:

Slated to open in 2024, this new concept will complement the venerable Scampo which Shire opened at the Liberty Hotel in 2008.

Men wanted for Atlantic Avenue attack

Boston Police have released photos and descriptions of five men, three in local sports-team attire, that they say punched and kicked a man at Atlantic Avenue and Congress Street hard enough to send him to the hospital around 5:40 p.m. on Jan. 1. Read more.

Around 3 p.m. in the little plaza in front of the Staples between State Street and City Hall Plaza. A bystander found the victim in front of the Citizens Bank branch around the corner at State and Congress streets. Injuries not considered life threatening.

Update: No violation by Lucky's, board rules.

When bouncers at Lucky's on Congress Street in the Seaport say that when they told an out-of-town patron he couldn't smoke in the restaurant vestibule, he unleashed a torrent of N-word-laced expletives at an off-duty bouncer who'd stopped by, then spit in his mouth, which led to a fight that ended with the patron on a gurney in a hallway at Mass. General, his jaw wired shut, police and workers told the Boston Licensing Board this morning. Read more.

A developer has proposed replacing an open-air parking lot and Silver Line Way at the end of Congress Street at Starboard Way with a two-wing, 13-story life-sciences lab building and a two-story building aimed at providing STEM training for people from more distant parts of Boston. Read more.
