Héctor Gómez reports that Julio Lugo, who played shortstop for the world-champion 2007 Sox team, has died of a heart attack. His 46th birthday was tomorrow.

What's the difference between David Ortiz and Julio Lugo?

One of them is a much beloved player who's cost the Red Sox games and the other one is Julio Lugo.

Fitzy: Seriously, my Tyco remote controlled cars had better range than Lugo does. My Fisher Price walkie talkies had better range.

... Idiots. That what you all are, those of you who booed Julio Lugo yesterday. Funny, I didn't hear any boos for the pitcher who gave up 10 hits in just over four innings. The guy who gave up 8 runs - all of them EARNED - in a game the Sox lost by nine runs. A guy who many had pegged to be this year's Cy Young winner who couldn't make it out of the fifth inning. Where were Jon Lester's boos? ...
