Rogerson Communities says it will soon filed detailed plans to expand its existing assisted-living and day programs for seniors with memory problems on Beaufort Road off the the Jamaicaway in Jamaica Plain with 135 affordable apartments for senior citizens. Read more.
Jamaica Plain News reports somebody who apparently went for a walk around the pond forgot to do that and so his or her car rolled onto the Jamaicaway, where, no, it didn't cause a 17-car pileup, but did just sit there for 20 minutes until some passing garbagemen and a state trooper pushed it out of the way.

An alarmed citizen filed a 311 report about a traffic signal on the Jamaicaway inbound at Perkins Street that crashed to the ground this afternoon. Read more.
DCR alerts us that from Tuesday until Monday, there'll be "rolling lane closures" along the Riverway, Jamaicaway and Arborway in both directions between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to allow for tree pruning.
A resident of Centre Street in Jamaica Plain (the part that's a continuation of the Arborway) shows us the damage from a driver on the southbound side who plowed through the small field there, smashed into a a fire-alarm box and then took out a hydrant near Louders Lane around 3:30 a.m. - not far from where another driver took out a light pole early one morning in December. A bad crash on the Jamaicway between Perkins and Castleton around 11:15 a.m., had firefighters getting out the Jaws of Life to get two people out. Then police and firefighters discovered a long oil slick that forced them to shut the road between Perkins up towards Rte. 9 so it could be cleaned up.
