The Rainbow Times reports on the chilly reception Gov. Baker got at an LGBT networking event at the Copley Marriott last night when he wouldn't come right out and support a bill banning discrimination against transgender people in public places.
CommonWealth, meanwhile, assures us: Pssst: Baker won’t veto a transgender rights bill.
A roving UHub photographer captured the LGBT teens and their supporters marching through downtown in yesterday's Massachusetts Youth Pride parade.
The City Council voted 12-0 for a resolution by Councilor Tito Jackson (Roxbury) to block city workers from traveling to Indiana on official business due to its new law allowing companies to discriminate against lesbians and gays.
The council passed a similar resolution related to Arkansas - even as that state's governor was vetoing a similar law.
The resolutions go to Mayor Walsh.
"I don't believe money from the residents of the city of Boston should be expended in those states while these laws are on the books," Jackson said.

Transgender people face the most basic and blatant discrimination every day - from being denied access to employment, housing, or healthcare, to being physically attacked because of the way they look or dress. Through the Transgender Rights Project, GLAD puts our litigation, legislative, and educational assets to work in a focused way to establish clear legal protections for the transgender community. Join us to learn more!
