An Amesbury woman who suffered a fractured skull and pelvis and had to have part of her leg amputated due after falling under a Green Line trolley in 2023 that had begun pulling out of BU Central last week sued the MBTA for negligence, saying the operators of the two-car train failed to check to make sure the outside of the train was clear before starting to leave the stop. The MBTA reports the recent shutdown of the B Line let workers eliminate all of the eight slow zones on that Green Line branch. Read more.
The MBTA is reminding Green Line riders that the B Line will be shut between Boston College and Babcock Street between Aug. 2 and 11 for some of those accelerated track repair sessions.
Bustitution, of course, except the buses won't stop at Allston Street, Griggs Street or Packards Corner for accessibility reasons.

A couple of months ago, some T riders asked the T to slap some googly eyes on the front of Green Line trolleys. Today, the T gave the people what they want: Googly eyes on Green Line trolleys - if not all of them, at least five, now roaming around the Green Line, such as this crazy-eyed trolley making the crazy turn at crazy Packards Corner in Allston. Tim Murphy reports this hawk rode a BC trolley from the Government Center loop to at least Arlington, where he snapped these photos, today, wonders if anybody had the heart to tell the hawk that BC is probably the wrong school for it.
Kenmore Square turned into a trolley graveyard this morning, after one just left this mortal coil, jamming up the works. At 9:51 a.m., the MBTA reported it was still bustituting riders on the C and D lines, while B Line riders were able to ride the rails once again.
The MBTA reports B Line delays of up to 15 minutes due to a trolley that got to BU Central and then would go no further.
Transit Police report that around 3 this morning, somebody in a 2015 Hyundai drove onto the inbound Green Line tracks at Packards Corner, and then, realizing he couldn't escape the clutches of the sarlacc pit there, got out with a pal and ran away. "TPD Detectives to follow up," police say. "Vehicle towed from scene, no damage to tracks."
Around 8:45 a.m., Boston's Leslie Knope reported this potentially fowl problem on the Green Line in Brighton, but based on the lack of T alerts, the gaggle was gone by the time any trolleys pulled through.

The MBTA switched back to bustitution between Copley and Babcock Street on the B Line this morning after a trolley derailed near Kenmore Square shortly before 9 a.m. Also:
Cleveland Circle and Riverside trains will terminate at Kenmore. Westbound service will be rerouted to the E Branch at Copley. Riders can also use local bus route 57 for service between Babcock St and Copley.
The MBTA reported delays on the B Line at 12:36 p.m after a trolley died at Packard's Corner.
The Green Line's day started inauspiciously per an MBTA announcement at 5:59 a.m. about 20-minute delays due to an earlier deceased trolley at Chiswick Road in Brighton.
Transit Police report the B Line was knocked out of commission for about 45 minutes around 9 p.m. on Wednesday after a driver somehow wound up facing towards Newton on the inbound tracks at Commonwealth Avenue and St. Thomas More Road. The driver of the diminutive sedan told police "he took a wrong turn and ended up stuck on the tracks." No injuries, at least.
Zeke snapped the car whose driver managed to get it across both inbound and outbound Green Line tracks near the BU Bridge, knocking both sides out of commission.
The MBTA announced it's running shuttle buses between BC and Washington Street due to "an overhead wire problem" near BC.
