Boston firefighters responded shortly after 4 p.m. to Stony Brook Reservation, between West Boundary Road and Enneking Parkway for a brush fire that consumed at least an acre.

DCR, which has been hauling boulders into Stony Brook Reservation for years to close off parking space, this weekend shut off access to a small parking lot on Enneking Parkway that provided access to the main paved path that circles around the reservation forest and Turtle Pond. Read more.

WCVB reports that State Police are combing land around Turtle Pond off Enneking Parkway for Joseph Brancato, 21, last seen several weeks ago on Mendelssohn Street in Roslindale, where he was staying with a Marine recruiter. NECN reports that among the agencies that sent investigators to the area is NCIS, which investigates possible criminal activity in the Marine Corps.
State Police and FBI investigators, some in biohazard suits and a backhoe are in the woods of Stony Brook Reservation, across Enneking Parkway from the Turtle Pond dock for their second day of digging. NBC Boston reports the woman was reported missing in October, 2007.

WFXT reports police are investigating a home invasion overnight on Enneking Parkway near Gordon Avenue. WBZ reports the robbers dumped the elderly woman at a Mattapan cemetery. She was taken to a local hospital for injuries not considered life threatening.
DCR Commissioner Leo Roy tonight unveiled a proposal to set aside all of Stony Brook Reservation west of Enneking Parkway - 140 acres of the 475-acre forest - for a dog park that would feature about a three-acre area of fenced-in play space and several miles of trails through the woods where owners could let their dogs roam free. A Walpole man now facing his fourth OUI charge was arrested early this morning after flipping his car on Enneking Parkway near the intersection with Turtle Pond and Dedham parkways, killing his passenger, then leaving the scene, State Police report.
Jeffrey Mason, 42, faces charges of OUI, fourth offense, motor-vehicle homicide while intoxicated, speeding, crossing marked lanes, negligent operation and leaving the scene of an accident causing personal injury, State Police say.
