Boston Restaurant Talk reports the venerable Southern restaurant and live-music spot plans to close on Dec. 31, then re-open as something else, although exactly what owner Nia Grace has in mind for the Columbus Avenue spot remains under wraps.
The Frogmore, which specialized in South Carolina low-country cuisine on Centre Street, announced today it's shutting for good on Sunday.

The Globe reports the shuttered Sanctuary in Hyde Square could soon be replaced by a new restaurant serving cuisine from the Low Country of coastal South Carolina and Georgia.
The Lyons Group wants to turn a closed taqueria on Lansdowne Street into a down-home eatery serving old-fashioned Southern food to the sound of country, bluegrass and folk music.

The restaurant, which serves Southern food, is licensed to offer beers, wines and liqueurs. Moonshine, now a legitimate product, is hard liquor, which is not included on its license - although flavored moonshine would be, under the theory it's a cordial.
Francois Firmin, who ran the Congress Street lounge for 10 years, hopes to open a similar lounge at 174 Lincoln St.
The Boston Licensing Board decides later today whether to let Firmin spend $610,000 to buy the liquor license and other assets of District at the same location.
Boston Restaurant News reports that Fill Belly's, which started out as a food truck serving up Southern-style comfort food, has converted itself into a sit-down restaurant at 3381 Washington St.
