The iconic Arlington Park Circle water tower was transformed into a an exotic performance space for one night with a program of dance illuminated by pictures of Arlington from town residents. The Sept. 7th event was organized by Merli Guerra, a local resident and co-founder of Luminarium Dance Company, which was awarded a grant from the Arlington Cultural Council.

It's here again. We shouldn't be surprised because it's mid January, but the New England Auto Show has shown up again at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. For locals who haven't been to the NY Auto Show or the one in Detroit, the one here is adequate. While you won't see a ton of prototypes on the show floor, you will get a chance to see a bunch of new models all together in one place.
The Endowment of Unexceptional Humans, a quirky JP charity, is having an event in Somerville May 11th. Local Boston authors read their work and then auction off an item that's close to their heart. The Globe's new blog writes more about The Endowment.
Boston's startup scene constantly gets compared, negatively, to San Francisco & NYC. A group of Bostonians had enough and decided to show everyone that we might not be the biggest or most famous innovation center but we are the loudest and nothing can stop us when we work together.
Bostonians from all over are uniting tonight to show that not only is our startup scene huge, vibrant and growing but we're also willing to help each other and others purely for the sake of helping. Need a job, a lead, or just someone to bounce ideas off of? Ruby Riot is calling your name.

UNRELIABLE NARRATOR THEATER GROUP DEBUTS CYBERPUNK MUSICAL COMEDY ENTITLED 2010: OUR HIDEOUS FUTURE: THE MUSICAL!
BOSTON, MA--July 23, 2010--Unreliable Narrator in collaboration with The Pluto Tapes presents 2010: Our Hideous Future: The Musical!, a cyberpunk musical comedy that will be staged Friday, August 20 through Saturday, August 28 at the Boston Playwrights’ Theatre located at 949 Commonwealth Avenue,
Boston MA 02215.
It’s A.D. 2010, East Coast Metro Zone A, New Malden, a time of techno-studded blechhiness. Lonely human freedom fighter Kate Brick plans a last stand against the oppressive Artas, artificial life forms who control humankind through torture, brainwashing, and Facebook. But judging by the apathy of her lover Dehnise Compuserve and of her fellow humans, it may be too late.
2010: Our Hideous Future: The Musical! features Kamela Dolinova, Emily Taradash, Julia Lunetta, Timothy Hoover, John Deschene, Kay Coughlin, Katie Drexel, Ginger Lazarus, and Will Todisco.
It's not every day you get to see a laser show at the Cambridge Public Library, but that is exactly the event that will kick off the 4th Annual Cambridge Science Festival.
The festival will run from April 24-May 2, 2010, with hundreds of events taking place throughout Cambridge. Organized by MIT, the festival will feature over 200 workshops, demonstrations, behind-the-scenes tours, talks, performances and more, open to the public, and almost all of it free. The idea behind the festival is to make science and technology accessible and fun for people of all ages and backgrounds. It all kicks off with a free Science Carnival featuring a specially commissioned laser show and 89 booths of fun experiments and demonstrations for all ages, Saturday, April 24th, 12pm-4pm, Cambridge Public Library, 449 Broadway. Laser show begins at Noon.
Other highlights of this year's festival include:
“Big Ideas for Busy People” on Festival Eve, April 23rd. This free event is a short series of talks on mind-bending concepts from leading local researchers in a variety of scientific fields.
