HONK!ers on the move

A ring had formed in Davis Square. In its center, a woman sang into a bullhorn while a row of trombones behind her seemed to lean into their music, taking steps forward as they played. They closed the gap with members of the surrounding crowd, who were also banging their heads, dancing to the music, and unconsciously marching closer to the musicians, until it became hard to tell who was who. A Honk band

In the Before Times, activist brass bands from all over the place would join up for a parade from Somerville to Harvard Square. This year, Honk was more spread out - across Somerville, Cambridge and Boston. Greg Cook caught some of the performances yesterday.

Mark looked up in MIT's Infinite Corridor this afternoon and immediately thought "broken neck" when he looked up and saw this guy on the other side of the railing. Musicians were in the corridor warming up for this weekend's Honk.
