Update, 4:35 p.m. All-out sent, firefighters to leave, T electricians to fix problem.

Count on not going anywhere fast on the Blue Line right now, because something on the tracks at Bowdoin is smoldering. Firefighters are a bit hampered because whatever it is is under a train, only the power is off due to the possible track fire, but they need the train moved so they can take a look. In the meantime, the T is terminating and starting Blue Line service at Government Center.

All ready for the morning commute, the T reports.

The MBTA has shut Bowdoin on the Blue Line due to what it calls an "infrastructure problem." Tim Lawrence says that is due to "reports of cement falling from ceiling."

Police, fire and emergency-medical crews from across the area have descended on various locations in Boston this weekend for drills on dealing with a variety of situations, from hostage-taking bank robbers at the Circle Cinema in Cleveland Circle to a hazmat/suspicious package situation on a Blue Line train at Bowdoin (above). So any gunfire you might hear? Chances are it's not real.

MassDOT is posting photos from today's emergency drill by local and regional emergency departments at the Bowdowin Blue Line stop, including this one of a robot (which got down the stairs by itself) guarding a pair of dummies.
