Mary Ellen spotted this merlin, a type of falcon that's bigger than a robin but smaller than a crow, perched at Millennium Park in West Roxbury today.

Yesterday afternoon, Francis Delaney noticed a raptor inside the Jackson Square Orange Line station. He reports he called animal control last night and will call the Animal Rescue League this morning.

Mary Ellen spotted this peregrine falcon yesterday, hanging out overlooking Cow Island Pond, a sort of Charles River bay off Rivermoor Street in West Roxbury.
Mary Ellen continues her exploration of bird life along the Charles River and Sawmill Brook at Millennium Park in West Roxbury. Yesterday, she spotted a pretzel bird, um, egret.

Missing Dogs Massachusetts is a Facebook page that's normally just what it sounds like. So a posting today is a little unusual, but, then, there aren't many places to look for a missing falcon:

She reports falcons have lived high atop the sewage-treatment plant's "digesters" (the giant egg things) for awhile, but this is the first time any have hatched there.
