Boston Radio Watch reports Ed Perry, the owner of WATD in Marshfield, has bought the rights to WMEX at auction and hopes to return the 1510 AM to the air, possibly with a mix of entertainment and news. But will Melvin X. Melvin return?

A federal judge has rejected a request by Joe Ligotti, who briefly did the morning drive-time show on WMEX in 2015, to block the possible sale of the station, which went off the air on June 30. Read more.

Joe Ligotti, who's made a career out of being a cigar-chomping loudmouth, is suing WMEX over the way he says he was secretly fired last year.

WMEX hired the Guy from Boston away from a weekend slot on WTKK last June, had him do the station's morning drive show, then ditched him a little more than a month later. Read more.

So Michele with one L was back on WMEX this afternoon, blathering along like she always does. Just before 5:30, she had a "Michele McPhee meltdown." Don't worry: State Police were not involved. She melted down because Caitlyn Jenner is getting some sort of award.

UPDATE: Just before she went off the air at 6 p.m. (don't worry: Her sister was in the studio to give her a ride), she said she can't talk about what happened the other night but that she is "100% confident that when the truth comes out, you'll understand why I have such unrelenting, unwavering support from so many people across the city."

WMEX host and one-time crime reporter Michele McPhee was arraigned today on charges of OUI and attacking the trooper trying to arrest her on an I-93 exit ramp early this morning after he allegedly failed to acknowledge knowing who she was or why that should make him let her go. Read more.
