State Sen. Jarrett Barrios of Cambridge recently started the Barrios Blog. You know he's dead serious when you see his first post quotes Foucault, Whitman and Dewey (that would be the American philospher, not the former Sox outfielder).

Just in time for the 2006 election, we've found the true third rail of Massachusetts politics: Marshmallow Fluff.
Local bloggers are rising up as one to defend the gooey, sugary goodness of Fluff - and especially Fluffernutters - even as they acknowledge that yes, indeed, the crap is bad for you, but they don't care: Back away from the Fluff, Mr. Barrios - and keep those hands where we can see 'em!

So Jarrett Barrios will run for re-election instead of for Middlesex DA. Some calculation: Run against an actual prosecutor who has the endorsement (more or less) of the current DA or run against some guy who's suddenly facing possible drunk-driving charges? What does Mr. Galluccio say? Neither of the morning papers showed any indication of trying to talk to him.
