Greg Cook reports the Oct. 27 "circle the block" event is not really an effort to get somebody to do something about that day's planned closing of Green Street Studios due to ever increasing rents as much as it is an effort to celebrate the place and the local dance community and to "say that we are here and there are a lot of us and sometimes you don’t see it."

Hi, everybody!
This past Friday night, and this past Saturday afternoon, the Somerville Theatre, in Somerville, MA, played the 70mm film of the 1961 movie version of West Side Story, as part of this theatre's annual 70mm Film Festival. What a beautiful film it was. This was a new print of the 70mm film version of West Side Story, that had not only been re-mastered, cleaned up, re-printed, and restored to its former color and glory, but had a sound track that was punchy and in one's face, as it's supposed to be. I attended both screenings of West Side Story with friends, and we all had lots of fun!
The iconic Arlington Park Circle water tower was transformed into a an exotic performance space for one night with a program of dance illuminated by pictures of Arlington from town residents. The Sept. 7th event was organized by Merli Guerra, a local resident and co-founder of Luminarium Dance Company, which was awarded a grant from the Arlington Cultural Council.
