A group of residents living near the site of a proposed synagogue on Bennett Street in Brighton yesterday sued to block its construction, saying the new building and attached rabbi's residence would simply be far too large for a congested, narrow street. Read more.
The Trammel Crow Co. said today it will soon file plans for a five-building complex along Soldiers Field Road near North Beacon Street that would include some 200 affordable housing units as well as research and retail space. Read more.

The Zoning Board of Appeal today approved plans by Congregation Khal Tiferes Yosef to move from its current home in its rabbi's basement to a new two-story shul at 49 Bennett St., basically across the street. Read more.

A resident of Parsons Street in Brighton is raising funds on GoFundMe to pay for a lawsuit against Zoning Board of Appeal and the owner of a parking lot at 372 North Beacon St. that wants to lease the space to a tow-lot operator being forced out of Emery Road in Allston. Read more.

As you might expect, Boston 311 logs are rapidly filling with reports of excessive trash in Allston, Brighton, the North End, Mission Hill and, um, South Boston. One of the more unusual is this detritus on Parsons Street in Brighton.
