By adamg on Tue, 04/06/2010 - 11:39am
Parrots Parakeets in East Boston, emus in Waltham and now this, the latest proof greater Boston is for the birds: One of our eagle-eyed correspondents reports spotting a chicken wandering Walworth Street in Roslindale this morning, near Cornell Street. She adds:
There was another chicken in the yard directly in front. I guess people are getting their own eggs these days!
Or a couple of the specials from the Pleasant Cafe escaped.

Birds in the hood
On Sunday a wild turkey strode the entire length of Peak Hill Road in West Roxbury. Walked past my house like he was headed for Easter Mass at Holy Name. Plucky.
4 birds of the apocalypse!
I'm justing waiting for the 4th bird! Will it be a penguin in Peabody, an albatross in Auburndale, or a dodo in Dorchester?
had a cople of turkeys in my
had a cople of turkeys in my backyard in hyde park last night
There was one hanging out
There was one hanging out around Faneuil Hall late last week, too. When I saw him, he was having some trouble trying to head toward the North End - he was NOT happy with some of the cars coming out of the tunnel at the light by Cross Street and North Street.
Can't wait!!!!!
Turkey season is only 2 weeks away.... hopefully we can keep population down so we don't have a problem like we have with those Canadian Geese
Majestic Turkey attacking my car in Norwood!
On my way into work this morning on Canton Street in Norwood, a picture perfect turkey was running around in he middle of the road causes traffic stoppages as it bounced back and forth between lanes. In an effort to avoid the bird I slowed down, at which time the bird attacked my front tires! I then tried beeping to try and scare it away, which only cause it to gobble back at me. Now if it wasn't for the cars lining up in back of me i would have caught it on cameraphone...but between laughing to tears and trying to stop the logjam behind me I finally escaped. I can't tell you enough how beautiful this turkey was though, i've seen wild turkeys from time to time in the city...but never one like this!
Or a couple of future
Or a couple of future sacrifices towards a lucky love life.

Ostriches instead of Segways
The Parks department could offer ostrich rides through the Greenway. Plus opening an ostrich farm (free range of course) start a new local industry of producing ostrich eggs. Could add a new eggy dimension to local eggstronomy. Egglicious ostrich omelets!
