Love it.
Young Martin's words should be memorialized.
God bless him and his family.
May we always remember young
May we always remember young Martin's words. Someone who had the right idea - at age eight. Now we must all try to live this to honor his memory. It's a challenge, but in my eyes, it's the only way forward as tough as it may seem.
I don't get the childish artwork
I don't get the childish artwork nor the naive response. So posting peace signs might persuade hardcore jihadis to give up mass murder? I guess the peaceniks thinks they can leave protection of our society up to military and police forces. I'd prefer a warrior response from the public, not 60's-hippie flower power. If we can't stand up and forcefully defend our own city and country, don't be surprised when the attacks keep coming.
No, you don't get it
You don't get that a community might want to honor the memory of a peaceful little kid who once made a poster with those very words on it. Your loss.
Peace. It is the only answer
Peace.
It is the only answer and the only way forward.
We need to come together in that spirit. It is the only way to stop the cycle.
Nothing naive about that, sorry.
Remember the inspiration: these were the words of an eight year old boy who we have lost to tragedy. Then ask yourself: why am I so hateful?
Let it go man.
A warrior response
To whom should the worrior's response be directed? We were attacked by two of our own. Both came here as kids and went to school here. They weren't "they," they were "us." On 9/11 a friend of mine returned to his home from his job at the Pentagon black from burning jet fuel. He had escaped only with his life. When he said that he wanted them to pay for what they did, it was understandable, as we had been attacked by foreign forces and he, after all, of anyone had a right to want vengance. Our situation is different. We can, and undoubtedly will, debate what response should come from this attack. But at the outset lets agree that Martin's opinion, if anyone's, is understandable and should be our first order of business.
You
Can't get rid of darkness with more darkness. You need light.
Now, thats not a call to naivety, but it is something we should strive for. After all, it’s the reason they hate us. Enlightenment is very dangerous to them and their worldview.
Sure you would..
Uh huh. Any you were where when all the shooting was happening? I'll bet you were watching reruns of Doomsday Preppers.
They are honoring Martin Richard, 8 years old
who lost his life on Monday. It's his quote.
Were we not defending our city on Friday?
Savin Hill sign
Loved the banner! Saw it driving to work this am.....
Would love to buy a t shirt with the same design, great job!
My apologies
My apologies, I didn't get that the banner was in memory of Martin Richards. May his 8-year old soul rest in eternal peace.
