New England Conservatory students to hold benefit concert for people displaced from Long Island - but they're not asking for money

New England Conservatory students will play in a concert on Saturday to benefit the Friends of Boston’s Homeless and The Women's Lunch Place and the people displaced from programs on Long Island when its bridge was shut in October.

Although money won't be turned down, "donations of new underwear, socks, and travel-sized toiletries will be accepted to support the work of the Friends of Boston’s Homeless. In addition, hats, scarves, and make-up will be collected for The Women's Lunch Place."

The concert, organized by the school's Entrepreneurial Musicianship, starts at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Covenant, 67 Newbury St.

This concert seeks to bring together Boston’s housed and unhoused residents to experience a beautiful and festive concert together and will prove that classical music is accessible to all audiences.

In addition to music, "advocacy notecards and postage will be provided to guests who wish to express their concerns about homelessness to the mayor and other legislators. "
