New park next to Boston Children's Museum to be named for Martin Richard

City and state officials joined with the Richard family to announce a parcel now owned by the MBTA next to the museum will be turned into a park honoring the memory of the Dorchester boy who only wanted peace.
"Martin's message of peace and love of life serves as an inspiration for all of us," said Mayor Walsh. "I thank all of our partners who have contributed to this important initiative, and especially the Richard family, whose strength and commitment to bettering our community exemplifies the spirit of our city."
Michael Van Valkenburgh & Associates, a landscape architecture firm, will design the park, with construction estimated to begin in 2017. Several local companies and foundations have already donated money towards construction.

Where specifically is this land?
If I'm standing at the Hood milk bottle, which way would I walk to reach this new park?

I think (don't know for sure) that it is all the way to the left (facing the milk bottle as you suggest) on the other side of the Children's Museum, bounded by the Bass River outlet, Seaport Blvd/the Moakley Bridge and Sleeper St. on the other 3 sides.
Scratching my head on that one
Yeah, can't really think of any significant open space nearby. One possibility is the small parking lot behind the Children's Wharf Park (between it and Sleeper St.) I always assumed that was a museum employees' lot, but maybe it belongs to the MBTA. Wouldn't be a new park, so much as a very small expansion of an existing park, but who knows.

I believe it's the empty parcel across Seaport Blvd from the new Envoy Hotel and across Sleeper St. from the construction site for the new Our Lady of the Good Voyage Chapel.

I suspect it's the small grass plot between the museum and the Barking Crab. The opening line of the Globe article is: "A grassy patch on the city’s waterfront will soon be filled with the sounds of children squealing on play-and-explore equipment as they let their imaginations run wild."
