By adamg on Sat, 11/26/2016 - 5:07pm
Santa and the mayor came to Adams Park in Roslindale Square today to help residents light up the neighborhood Christmas tree.
Performers from "The Urban Nutcracker" danced:
Enzo was the winner of this year's reindog competition, wearing an authentic Scottish tartan - and antlers:
Sacred Heart School students played and sang Christmas carols:
Some older performers played as well:
Kids made Christmas ornaments and then put them on the tree:

What is this Christmas thing you speak of?
According to the City, it's an Annual Tree Lighting, not a Christmas Tree Lighting.
Never heard of that type of tree ...

Oh, since you were wondering ...
Yes, Steve Murphy was there.
Happy Holiday!
Sorry, I was in a bad mood. Looks as though everyone had a wonderful time! Hi, Santa!
Perhaps this will cheer you!
The Holiday Hole
Wowser
They've raised over 95K as of this morning.
That's not the hole America needs ...
But it's the hole America wants.
Meh
Played the card game once. It got old real quick.
From the FAQ's:
How am I supposed to feel about this?
You’re supposed to think it’s funny. You might not get it for a while, but some time next year you’ll chuckle quietly to yourself and remember all this business about the hole.
No, no I won't.
Trees have annual rings
This is more of an annual decoration of a tree sacrifice, however.
Trees and tree lighting and evergreens are all about the solstice - they got grafted onto Christmas thousands of years later.
Adorable!
( yet sadly, not even Santa Claus can make the mayor smile )
