Cult of the crow moves into Dedham
By adamg on Fri, 05/05/2017 - 5:53pm
Festive Daisy Razor spotted two of these Latin signs on Sprague Street in Dedham today, wonders why somebody would bother posting signs advising that "crows don't pluck out each other's eyes." You might remember the same basic signs, which are equivalent to our saying about "honor among thieves," showed up in Forest Hills last year.

Not Art
Definitely Not Art.
I know some people like it, but I had the misfortune of having to study Latin (yes, at BLS) and found it to be a most torturous activity. To each their own.

Then you did not have Dr. Carroll. It was like having Steve Martin and Bill Murray do a standup routine about Latin while simultaneously teaching..... hmmm.... I guess that *was* a most tortuous activity. "Ceasar bought the farm... He took it in the shorts...".
One year I had Kelly-Cox and the black kid who sat behind me would do impersonations of Magnum PI's butler whenever her husband would show up.
Dr. Carroll retired after last year
He was one of my son's mentors -- on Latin and fashion. ;-)
I love this...
I'm not a bit surprised that a few of our more illustrious regulars here on UHub are BLS alums or parents of BLS students or alums.
Parent of 3 grads...
... one of whom now teaches Latin at Latin -- and Adam's daughter (who we first encountered in a stroller) was one of his students. ;-)
I'm not affilliated...
... just a fan of the place.
