Dorchester now has a water park

Flooded playground at Tenean Beach in Dorchester

At least when we get a king tide, like we did overnight. Maria Lyons visited Tenean Beach this morning.

Boston Harbor Now visited at the peak of the tide, around 1:50 this morning.

Do Kings tides come in to Boston? Are they monthly or on a different cycle?

It was a new moon last night so that helps along with the moon being at apogee or perigee (far away or close to).

The last big one we had was last October I think with a slightly smaller one in April? The next big one is supposed to be in December, I believe.

Somebody sell this guy your soon-to-be-uninsurable beachfront property

You raise a good point on flood insurance and the Port Norfolk condo / hotel proposal. Depending on the value and mortgage on each unit, the flood insurance could be ridiculous.

You are a complete fool.

Even if you stopped emitting CO2 today, and you and the rest of us stopped burning fossil energy, we'd be in for about three centuries of climate hangovers before the stink wore off. Because of science-denying fools like you, we might just crash the whole system just like reality denying fools like you may have crashed the republic.

Even so, FISH will need bicycles! Heh.

Maybe the Lightbringer goofed. He slowed down the ocean's rise, but he forgot about the land...
It's sinking. Unless you want to deny the science of one millimeter per year of land subsidence. One millimeter per year is about an inch in 25 years for those of us without Swirl's smarts.

So does this graph meet your exacting demands for rigidly 'peer reviewed'?

Anyway, the Republic will do fine, I hope...as soon as the swamp gets drained a little bit.
"Alan Dershowitz: Russia Probe Sounds Like Stalin's Secret Police" I know, I know, it's only a blog, but it's been a long day. Anyway, Mr D isn't as smart as you anyway, but he just might be a better lawyer...

Here we go..."PJMEDIA!!! CRAPTASTIC!!

Well, the excerpts are from a CNN interview and they're hilarious.

Your belief that Obama's statement supports your (trolling) point suggests MA needs better math pedagogy

Yep. Walk there a lot with the dog or to take the daughter to the playground. That area definitely floods. Oh well. Not sure we need to "fix" it. Needs a little TLC to make it a more approachable on foot/bike around the underpass. A boat launch for small trailer-ables would also be a stand-out in a city of slip-fee driven yacht clubs and there's plenty of room for it here. The area also needs(?) a clearer connecting path to the Neponset river walk. Countless clueless bikers and joggers circling between the two. I've heard plans of linking up trails and bike paths all the way to Castle Island but that strikes me as pretty ambitious. Anyway, with a few simple things, lots of unrecognized potential for renewal there. But even without them, I still love our oft-flooded beachside neighborhood park even if it's no Castle Island.

Still can't go surfing where there are no waves.
