With froyo on decline, juice marches in

The Zoning Board of Appeals yesterday approved plans to replace a failed Newbury Street froyo joint with a joint that promises its juices can rid your body of toxins.
Pressed Juicery, started, as such things are, in Los Angeles, is planning its first Boston outlet at 288 Newbury St., where Pinkberry used to be. It will feature juices designed for "cleanses."
The chain's attorney, Joe Hanley, said the store would sell juice from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and would have some outdoor seating.
The mayor's office and the office of City Councilor Josh Zakim supported the proposal. Nobody opposed it.

Cleanse your toxins
FYI: Any product (not just juice) that claims it can help you remove or cleanse toxins from your body is a scam. Your body is perfectly good at removing toxins and they do not build up anywhere that a supplement or juice is going to release them.

how are your kidneys going to remove anything without water to dissolve it in, hotshot? The juice I'M selling is 99.9% water, more than that snake-oil being sold by Ocean Spray. Without the added infusion of dihydrogen monoxide, your nephrotoxicity will skyrocket.
(Juice cleanse companies: hire me for your advertising campaign! Together we'll sell a better cleansing product, and it will all come from the Quabbin Reservoir)

Exhaustive internet research shows DMHO is linked to an unfathomable number of health and environmental hazards. Why would I ingest a substance used as a fire retardant and industrial solvent that has been shown to cause metal corrosion?
