The Globe reports foul play not suspected in the death of a man whose body was found on the grounds of the station around 5:30 a.m. The station has since re-opened.
Ever since the Transit Police decided to close the police office which was located in the area where the body was located the grounds have become a shooting gallery for addicts and the homeless displaced from the Long Island Shelter.
Police can't be everywhere anyway and do we really want or need them to be? This appears to be a suicide by hanging. There are literally millions of ways, places and times for a person to commit suicide. No one or nothing is necessarily to blame.
I remember attending a meeting at the little house a few years ago and a representative from the MBTA promised that over fifty cameras were being installed and that they would be monitored. Sounds like someone was not monitoring the video when this tragedy occurred.
